The iconic Albero della Vita (Tree of Life), conceived by Marco Balich and symbol of Milan Expo 2015 which had already attracted over 15 million visitors, returned with shows to light up the Experience area that had hosted the Universal Exhibition.

Every Saturday and Sunday the light and water shows of the Tree of Life returned with new fountain shows every hour starting at 2:30pm, with the musical accompaniment of four great Italian songs: Adriano Celentano’s “Azzurro”, Francesco Gabbani’s “Occidentali’s Karma”, Fiorella Mannoia’s “Quello che le donne non dicono” and Noemi’s “Sono solo parole”.

A 9-minute show played at 9:30pm and 10:30pm, with a dreamlike atmosphere, using stunning technologies and techniques, and a finale of pure emotion, featured by an original composition from Roberto Cacciapaglia.

The creative installation told the story of an idealized journey through a world full of color. A rainbow, the symbol of peace, hope and social equality, relived and reaffirmed the message of Expo: looking forward with optimism to a future which holds greater respect for the planet and for all its myriad diversities.

The Tree of Life was created in 2015 from a concept of Marco Balich, Artistic Director of the Italian Pavilion, thanks to the support of Diana Bracco, Coldiretti, Pirelli, Orgoglio Brescia, Studio Giò Forma (Florian Boje, Cristiana Picco, Claudio Santucci), Koert Vermeulen and Marco Astarita, together with Balich Worldwide Shows. It touched people’s hearts with its shows thanks to EXPerience, Arexpo and Regione Lombardia.
